Oxley Solar Development is proposing to develop a large-scale solar farm south-east of Armidale along Gara Road, west of its intersection with Silverton Road, about 12km south-east of Armidale. The development, Oxley Solar Farm, would produce an estimated 225MW of solar energy. This would power approximately 81,000 average homes and displace approximately 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per annum.
Following community and stakeholder consultation, the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Oxley Solar Farm has been lodged with the NSW Government and was published on 17 March 2021 on the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) Major Projects website.
The Oxley Solar Farm project team is holding an information session to provide the community with the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the proposed project. The EIS document will be publicly available at the information session to view on a computer and also on a limited number of USB memory sticks.
The information session will be held at
Kent House (Activities Room),141 Faulkner Street, Armidale
Wednesday 31 March 2021, from 12 noon until 7 pm
Feedback regarding the EIS would be welcomed and can be submitted directly to the DPIE via its Major Projects website before 14 April 2021. The DPIE Major Projects website is https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects/project/14201
